Phaces of the Week: Feb. 18-22

Movie Watch: New and future films, and Javier Bardem and Daniel Day-Lewis are not James Dean

[ ]   As has become custom, we’ll point you to Victor at Impresario for the Friday new movie skinny. (Impresario)

However, we will openly question the good taste of a new movie about a presidential assassination being released now… and( its star) Dennis Quaid’s wardrobe on Letterman the other night.

A change-up you can believe in?

Barack Obama on the Phils?

While assuming the senator from Illinois will have more to do this summer than fill a spot in the Phils bullpen (and also assuming he’s a Cubs or White Sox fan), it’s worth a mouse click to Obama of Dreams to see how Mr. Audacity of Hope translates to all the MLB t-shirts.

News to reuse: It’s snowing; it will continue to suck, Norriswood? and river breezes salty and stinky

[ ]   Snow is blanketing the region. (Burlington County Times)

A chat with Foo Fighters' Taylor Hawkins

Foo Fighters show musical growth, bring home a Grammy

By Alan Sculley / Philly EDGE correspondent

When the Foo Fighters released a disc of acoustic songs as half of the 2005 two-CD set, “In Your Honor,” it may have seemed like a one-off side trip away from the group’s usual brand of combustible plugged-in guitar rock.
But the disc, coupled with an acoustic tour last summer in support of that material from “In Your Honor,” has come to have a more profound impact on the Foo Fighters and its songwriter, Dave Grohl – liberating the group to pursue a more varied scope of music.

Now if someone would have just made a bid on that nice Tree Jesus, this might have all been avoided…seriously though, between both the nearby alleged asbestos site and the WM landfill, a couple punk-ass demons seem like not a lot to worry about.
