Turning 21 can affect everybody in a funny way.
Fortunately, New Jersey’s Dan Scully was funny before he turned the legal drinking age earlier this year. The comic said that people of his youthful age are a rarity on the local club circuit.
“There are a couple other guys my age. After us, most are... 28 to 50 (years old).”
Burlington County College student Scully, along with Patrick O’Donnell, Mike Clements and Gene Norris, is scheduled to be at the Elephant & Castle (inside the Clarion Hotel, 1450 Route 70, Cherry Hill. 856.427.0427) for two shows at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. on New Year’s Eve (Dec. 31).

Philly EDGE remembers when everybody in local media seemed to be making a fuss when Cherry Hill, NJ’s own stylist-hottie Lauren Harris was among the Miss FHM finalists.
Then she won, and nobody celebrated.
WTF, NO TICKER-TAPE PARADE!
While we’ve mentioned it in print (Dec. 7), Lauren is worth more than just that.
Check out pictures of her from FHM and WMMR’s Preston and Steve (scroll down to L, slowly).

New bars on your block
Soon-to-open pubs in and around Philly
By Erin Roop
Philly EDGE Correspondent
Every year people make New Year’s resolutions to lose weight, quit smoking and countless other predictable (read: “boring”) ideas.
In 2006, crank it up a bit and opt to do something you’ll actually stick with: promise yourself that you’ll check out some of the newest bars popping up all around the Philly area. These new bars deal in everything from “unleashed dancing” to fresh Tex-Mex food.
Afraid of change?
Check out new locations from some of your old favorites like Chickie’s and Pete’s and Kildare’s.
Due to the Shalit Act of 1983, all film critics are required by law to write a best of list during the month of December. The list must contain no more than 10 but no less than 5 movies and must be written before the stroke of midnight on the 31st. It wasn't until recently that the legal act also pertained to the guys who write tiresome dick jokes in free weeklies, so here are my contractually obligated opinions....
6. Brokeback Mountain: A dazzling, heartfelt rollercoaster ride of pure - OK good he just went into the other room. Would somebody please help me? Entertainment Weeklies' Owen Gleiberman just broke into my house and he's threatened to kill me if I didn't put this on my list. Oh god, would somebody please call the cops before he shoves a shotgun down my throat makes me add Memoirs of a Geisha?
