PA state Rep. Thomas C. Corrigan (D-Bucks) announced, via press release, his sponsorship of a bill in the PA State House that would ban the sales of marijuana-flavored candy in the Commonwealth.
"Candy that tastes like marijuana, especially with names like Pot Suckers and Stoner Pops, sends the wrong message to children," Corrigan said in the release.
No word as to whether Corrigan had anything to do with any anti-Candy Cigarette legislation or if he believes in banning O'Douls from all PA. stores as well.
Blogasaurus notes that another "wrong message" to send to children might be to vote for, or accept, a pay raise for yourself as a legislator without the consultation of your constituency.
Me?
Laura Veirs - "Years of Carbon" - kinda Liz Phair/Aimee Mann-ish. Catchy tunes with a hint of quirk.
Toys That Kill - "Control the Sun" - San Pedro trio that rocks hard, elementary punk sounds, solid songs. Offbeat, but solid.
Echo and the Bunnymen - "Siberia" - Their newest CD is super good, catchy and singer Ian sounds more confident and as developed as ever.
Also Bellrays, Serena Maneesh, BBC Radio 1 on Sirius channel 11, and of course, Howard Stern.
As the new fall television season quickly congeals into a massive blob of shit, it's best to remember
that these mediocre programs could be much worse. With that in mind, here's a list of my favorite unsold television pilots.
Great Day (1977)
Happy Days' Al Molinaro and beloved midget Billy Barty star in this horribly misguided sitcom that attempted to examine the carefree, laugh-a-minute lives of New York City's homeless.
Higher Ground (1988)
When people think of John Denver they tend to remember him as that dead country singer guy who always seemed to hang around the Muppets. People rarely think of him as an ass-kicking, tough as nails P.I. which is exactly why "Higher Ground" never went to series.
