Although it’s not quite the equivalent of Old City in Philadelphia, Doylestown Borough can be a bar hopper’s dream come true. There are about a dozen drinking establishments, all with their own charm and flare, within a very short walking distance of each other, and the downtown area. Chances are you’ll find a barstool somewhere to call your own for the night. If not, you can always walk – or stumble – to the next bar. Here are five places to get started.

Pearl Jam played to huge crowds last weekend at the Tweeter Center in Camden.
Check out Philly EDGE freelance photographer Brian Hineline’s pictures of frontman Eddie Vedder. Sunday’s show featured Vedder joining opening act My Morning Jacket onstage for a cover of The Band’s "It Makes No Difference," then PJ came out and rocked for hours.

Close enough to Philly to be considered a suburb, but far enough away to have escaped the strip mall redundancy of some of its neighbors, Doylestown has become one of the area’s up-and-coming spots for nightlife and local music. Starting at the cross roads of State and Main Streets in the center of the Doylestown Borough, Philly EDGE set out to find the best of what this Bucks County town has to offer.
