Music News: A woman on the EDGE on Plant/Krauss tour and Projekt Revolution set for Camden in July

[ ]   Longtime F.o.P.Es know that last summer Philly EDGE was the media sponsor of the Ladies on the EDGE tour that featured female singer-songwriters with suburban Philly roots.
Well, according to a post on her MySpace blog, one of those women, Sharon Little, along with her ever-present cohort Scot Sax, has landed an opening slot on some of the Robert Plant /Alison Krauss tour dates. A July 12 show is set for the Mann according to Pollstar.com.

Food news: Free Starbucks Tuesday at noon, Saxby’s now brewing in Abington and Best. Cheesteaks. Ever.

6 [ ]   Tomorrow (Apr. 8) at noon (‘til?), your local Starbucks will give out free cups of Pike Place Roast, its tasty new brew. (phillyBurbs)

From the story:
This morning we got a sneak peak of Pike Place Roast in Center City. The roast is bold enough to rouse even Lazarus from a deep sleep, and yet smooth enough that it won’t rip the tongue off of anyone with a timid palate. Toasted nuttiness and notes of cocoa are balanced by soft acidity and a subtle sweet finish. Personally we prefer the darker, bolder and bitterer profile of something along the lines of Starbuck’s Verona Roast, but still found Pike Place an agreeable and very quaffable cup of joe.

Another week, more local Hometown Hotties
