[ ]    Maybe it’s because even trying to get into the parking lot of the Jenkintown Starbucks or Wawa (click ‘Street View’) is sometimes impossible, but all of a sudden the Jtown-Abington-Willow Grove area is undergoing a coffee shop boom. And no new Starbucks.

[ ]   The weekend sort of starts tonight, at least in Ambler where the Ambler Theater screens Philly artist Zoe Strauss’ “If You Break the Skin You Must Come In” at 7 p.m.

      It’s not a Will Ferrell-like flick, yo…Zoe says on her blog that she WILL NOT be there, but go anyway. It’s worth it. Also, check out the Ambler downtown after the show; not bad for the suburbs.

[ ]   Pre-sale tickets are already available for the Dave Matthews Band’s shows at the Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden June 3 and 4. There is also a June 10 date in Scranton and a June 27 show in Hershey (with the Black Crowes opening).

       In addition to its past material, DMB will debut songs from its forthcoming record, the follow-up to 2005's Stand Up, which it is currently recording with producer Rob Cavallo (Green Day, My Chemical Romance, Alanis Morissette).

And it’s not even using McWeathery to do it.

    Bucks County band-gone-national The Starting Line, who held an online press conference Wednesday afternoon on AbsolutePunk.net to clarify its future, is planning to “take a break” after it finishes an upcoming tour that begins March 18 in State College, Pa.

[ ]   Sterogum via Entertainment Weekly is hinting at a possible Pavement reunion. Perhaps we can ask Mr. Malkmus about this when he plays the TLA later this month.

       Also, we have heard from a reliable source whose ears we trust, that the new Malkmus disc is great. (Stereogum)

 

[ ]  As a way of “expanding the beer market” (read: making more money), Anheuser-Busch is introducing Bud Light Lime (which is not unlike Miller Chill, which debuted last summer) this May and throwing $35 million to hype it – in case you see pop-up ads showing up on homeless people or whatever the marketing plan is for the new booze. …Oh, and they also debuted clam juice-flavored beer mixed with tomato juice.
