David Byrne opens his tour in Bethlehem; Tower Theatre date is Nov. 8

Musician David Byrne, whom you may best know as the front man of the Talking Heads, opened his North American tour at the Zoellner Arts Center at Lehigh University in Bethlehem Tuesday night. Philly EDGE freelancer Brian Hineline caught the show, as you can see in the picture at right, and in the shots here.

Byrne is doing the tour to support his new album with producer Brian Eno, Everything That Happens Will Happen Today, as well as playing other notable material from his solo and Talking Heads work.

      The Skinny via Hineline:

“Great show for their first night -- full band plus backup singers and dancers. Talking Heads songs from their three Eno albums that were played included ‘Life During Wartime’ and ‘Once in a Lifetime’ as well as an encore of ‘Take Me to the River.’ The band received several standing ovations throughout the night.”
