Ten things you need to know about eating the new Grilled Chicken Salad Burritos at ever-growing Mexican food chain Baja Fresh.
1- There are two types: Grilled Chicken Caesar and Grilled Chicken Cabo Cobb (right).
2- Black beans and cream dressing on the Cabo. Caesar dressing and grated cheese on the Caesar.
3- While both (and all BF burritos) are available ‘bare style’ (sans tortilla), have them wrap it up. It makes for a better, handier eating experience. The dressings pair well with the tortilla, and the flavors of the chicken, avocado, lettuce, tomato and cheese blend better than when they are slapped into a plastic bowl.
4- The cooks always seem to get a little happy with the shredded cheese in a bare-style bowl.
5- The avocado and tomato could have been fresher.
6- The chicken was a bit dry. It’s not always that way. The busier it is, the fresher the food.
7- At $5.95, it’s a pretty fair deal for the amount of food.
8- If you have a slight wait, they hook you up with chips and there’s a fresh salsa bar.
9- You can get 99-cent soft drink refills for life if you buy a current 32 oz. souvenir cup.
10-Locations near you in
PA. and
NJ.
Hat tip to BurlCo Times / WIP guy
Reuben Frank who mentioned the chain in a post awhile back.
It’s not close to authentic Mexican, but it sure beats the hell out of Taco Bell and Moe’s.
