[ ]   Extra Music News II : Tomorrow’s Flyleaf show at the Electric Factory that, apparently, not as many people are going to see as first thought, has been moved to the TLA.

[ ]  Extra Food News: Sonic, the Red State-leaning, drive-in style fast food merchant, is coming to Levittown, dangerously close to Philly EDGE world HQ. The closest current location is in Morgantown, near Reading. (Courier Times blog)

[ ]  Extra Bar News: The Pineville Tavern has decided to go smoke-free. It’s been open- no shit - 277 years.(Courier Times blog)

[ ] Extra Philly Sports Backwash: This morning’s Kidd Chris Show on WYSP-FM (94.1) featured a chat with Howard Eskin of WIP-AM (610), followed by a scheduled in-studio spot with “Van Halen lead singer (and former ‘YSP morning host) David Lee Roth, in town to promo VH’s Atlantic City concert tonight.”  It was, however, an impersonator, not DLR.

Drive time host Eskin (on the left in photo- with best friend Andy Reid to whom he tosses softballs from Aug.-Jan.), meanwhile, was on to “preview” the Flyers-Penguins playoff series for the rock station – ridiculous in that Eskin’s voice always drips with condescension (even more so than usual) about the Flyers, and hockey in general, until, of course, he was compelled to jump on the bandwagon when the team advanced in the playoffs (as he did with the Sixers this year and Phillies last year).

After the “hockey expert” hammered away at the Steelers, the city of Pittsburgh and the ESPN radio show there, which allowed him to take veiled shots at his local competition at 950-AM, Eskin decided to take a swipe at “David Lee,” who fired back.

Philly EDGE admits to being had on this at first - it did sound like David Lee to us - but it’s still nice to hear someone tee off on Eskin just the same.
