[ ]   Required reading as of May 15: Gregory Pizzoli and Ansley Joe’s The Pizza Book: An Illustrated Guide to Philadelphia’s Best and Worst Slices ($25). The UArts MFA students have reviewed the city’s pizzerias “from pizza quality, bathroom cleanliness, average slice prices, customer service, beverage variety - everything you could ever want to know. We also included all the info you need to check them out for yourself - phone numbers, hours, delivery minimums - absolutely everything.” (The Clog)

No indication of rankings but our call is: 1. Tony’s 2.Tacconelli’s  3. Lorenzo’s (Not South St.)…And we’re assuming Trenton is not included.

[ ]   Five things you need to know about the new Southern-style Chicken Sandwich at McDonald’s.

  1. It’s priced under $3; you get what you pay for….Barely.
  2. The chicken does not poke forth from the bun, nor can it be called girth-y in any way.
  3. The seedless bun made the sandwich seem high school cafeteria-style, not Southern-style.
  4. There were two, pitiful paper-thin pickle slices on the chicken cutlet. That’s it. No other sauce, condiment, relish, etc. Just two feeble pickle slices.
  5. Philly EDGE received said sandwich via a coupon it was given for a morning service snafu a day earlier. Service was not markedly better this time.
