Music news: Live Music Philly, you can soon be a radio star and a Flight of the Conchords review

[ ]  Live Music Philly launches tonight at the Philly for Philly benefit show at World Café Live. The LMP concept is a local show and music portal which may or may not eventually include a continuous music stream on its own site. is part of the PMH/Philly.com empire. (Ed. Note: Wrong! Philly EDGE regrets the error.)

Tonight, count on a free compilation disc (feat. The Cobbs, Philly Slick, Jotto and Cheers Elephant), perhaps some nifty key chains and a(nother) take off on the LOVE Park statue as their logo.

Philly EDGE wishes them well, really, but will also take this opportunity to note who originated the concept, and who suggested it be brought to Philadelphia more than two years ago.

From the review:

…A late-set highlight was crowd favorite “Hip-Hopopotamus vs. The Rhymenoceros,” which was short and fun. During a new song, Bret McKenzie jumped into the crowd, wailing away on keytar. “Albi The Racist Dragon,” kind of a takeoff on “Puff The Magic Dragon,” was heartfelt, touching and funny. Two encores, including “Angels,” a hilarious romp about angels having sex, complete with an impressive two-man-choir segment, followed.
