Bar news: JL Sullivan’s coming soon, Deuce no longer wild and Union Market is open

[ ]   J.L. Sullivan’s Speakeasy, the upscale sports bar (that hopes-to-be-a chain) created by the owners of McFadden’s, will open in the former Zanzibar Blue space downstairs at the Bellevue (200 S. Broad St., Philadelphia) on May 15.

[ ]   The Inky’s Michael Klein reports that the owner of Bar Ferdinand will take over the No Libs space last kept by Deuce and spin it into El Camino Real- “a Mexican border bar.” (Food and Drinq)

[ ]   Teeming with fresh salads, sandwiches, breads, soups, pizza and more, Union Gourmet Market is now open daily in the Western Union Building (1113 Locust St., Philadelphia; 215.238.8800). Think of it like a suburban Gucci-supermarket experience without all the soccer moms and closeted dads.
