Food News: Reigning Wing Bowl champ Chestnut moves on to asparagus (video), new burgers and a National Pretzel Day reminder

Chestnut is readying himself for the Deep Fried Asparagus Eating Championship at the Stockton Asparagus Festival this Saturday (Apr. 26). Check the video below for his training regimen, which includes Rob Zombie, lots of water and pee that smells funny for weeks.
Note: Chestnut holds the current record for deep fried asparagus: 8.6 pounds in 10 minutes. (nod to Deadspin)
[ ] Memphis Taproom is now open in the Port Richmond /Fishtown/Kensington section of the city.
[ ] Goodburger, the New York burger joint run by cousins Nick Tsoulos and Peter Pashalis, should be open at its new Philly locale (1725 Chestnut St. 215.569.4777) by next Saturday (May 3).
Fwiw- great, hand-formed burgers – made over a charcoal grill – and the place will serve beer, too.
[ ] We have heard rumors that Jules Thin Crust Pizza – the Doylestown-based pizza place that serves up unique, thin pizza-by-the-inch – is seeking to place a new location in Jenkintown (Montco). The company opened its second store in Newtown (Bucks) just in the past year.
