Saturday (April 12)
 
-         Hop Fest at Drafting Room, Spring House. Noon.
      
-         Glock Day, South Philly.
Buy a Glock, get a lesson in using it.
 
Tommy Conwell hosts the benefit. Tickets will include beer and food.

-         Mardi Gras Casino Night
       Sapphire Fund presents its first annual Casino Night and  Silent Auction at Cava International (2000 Washington Ave., Philadelphia). The Mardi Gras themed event includes Sapphire "play" chips (gaming is for entertainment purposes only), an open vodka, beer and wine bar, and complimentary hors d'oeuvres. Tickets are $50 in advance ($60 at the door) and are available through www.sapphirefund.org  or at Philadelphia Home Art Garden (PHAG) at 1225 Walnut St. in Philadelphia.
      Evening proceeds will benefit Sapphire Fund and its 2008 beneficiaries: William Way LGBTQ Community Center, Calcutta House, GALAEI, and Mountain Meadow.

Sunday (April 13)
 
      Ben’s Ultimate Burger Contest, sponsored by 95.7 BEN-FM, is Sunday (April 13) at Sequoia “OutBack” Supply (1700 Cowpath Road, Hatfield) from noon to 2 p.m. Contestants will use their own unique burger recipes to compete to win a new grill and other prizes.
     In addition to the contest, there will be burgers and hot dogs for guests, live music and giveaways.
