Local heroes
Philadelphia people that inspire awe with their super powers. Sort of.

The Weatherman
Glenn “Hurricane” Schwartz, chief meteorologist at NBC 10, almost controls the weather. He certainly knows what the atmosphere will do before it does it.
(Maybe he can get lightning to strike Howard Eskin one of these Sundays when the bearded wonder comes to the NBC studios.)
The Ex-Y Men (and woman)
Since leaving Y-100 the cast of The Preston & Steve Show on WMMR-FM (93.3) have mesmerized the entire region, leading to their morning radio dominance. Let’s all just be glad they’ve decided to use their powers for good, rather than evil.
(Though…outing the kinky hi-jinks of former local kiddie TV host Captain Noah (and Mrs. Noah) on-air last week may signify an evil turn.)
The Big Man
Phillies slugger Ryan Howard already makes opponents’ pitches disappear into the seats of Citizens Bank Park. Perhaps the city can contract him to do something about its murder rate. Give The Big Man a Kevlar vest and a dozen bats and turn him loose.
