New-fangled Halloween accessories

Are you looking to sharpen your look this Halloween?
Wraith, Philadelphia’s Dentist of the Underworld, offers a solution: custom-made, custom-fit, dental acrylic fangs, which he has been applying to customers every Saturday in October at Passional Boutique (704 South 5th St. in Philadelphia).
Not just for Halloween, the fangs are easy to apply and remove and are, most importantly, very real.
With a background in special-effects make-up, Wraith has been in the fang business for the past eight years and normally apply fangs to approximately five to seven people per day.
“Some people want a pair for Halloween, others just like the appearance,” he says.
According to Wraith, the process is surprisingly quick and painless. The fangs are fit to your teeth, then shaved, filed, buffed and polished to your satisfaction. It takes about 30 to 45 minutes for a fang job to be completed.
Some may consider a request for fangs odd, but Wraith says he doesn’t really see anything that strange on the job. Customers do ask for varying degrees of sharpness, however.
“Some people like them sharper for their own reasons,” explains Wraith, “those with alternative lifestyles.”

If you decide to get fanged, Wraith has five essential rules to follow:

1. Bite gently; no chomping.
2. Never wear your fangs in your sleep.
3. Treat your fangs like your other teeth; Brush.
4. Don’t wear your fangs for more than 12 hours at a time.
5. If you don’t want to stain your new saber teeth, stay away from coffee, tea and cigarettes.

Fangs are available in single (two teeth), double (four teeth), triple (six teeth) and quad (eight teeth) sets and come with a one-year warranty. Re-sharpening is free for the first the year. Prices range from $60 to $150 dollars.

It’s a celebration, witches!
