Eagles’ Best. Draft. Ever.: Meet MeSean, and remember Drew Rosenpenis?

[ ]   The Eagles traded down out of the first round during Saturday’s NFL Draft and somehow wound-up with approx. 624 fourth- and sixth-round picks.

From ‘MeSean’s” Wiki :

To cap off his high school career, Jackson was voted the Most Valuable Player at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio, Texas, where he caught seven balls for 141 yards and passed for a 45-yard touchdown in leading the West to a 35-3 victory in a game that featured 80 of the nation's top players. However, he was also involved in an embarrassing play where he attempted to somersault for a touchdown, but landed on the one-yard line.

(Editor’s Note: Jackson also won the Randy Moss Award in college. Really - The fucking Randy. Moss. Award.):

From the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel report on Eagles draft pick Jack Ikegwuonu’s knee injury:

The injury will all but eliminate Ikegwuonu's chances of being selected April 26-27 in the National Football League draft. It's possible a team might take him in a late round and bring along for 2009.

"He's screwed now," an executive in personnel for an NFL team said. "He wasn't going to be that high of a pick, anyway. Fourth round.

"I blame the agent for talking the kid into coming out. Stupid. Because he wasn't a first-day player."

Ikegwuonu signed with agent Drew Rosenhaus
on Jan. 5 and declared for the draft before the Jan. 15 deadline.

USA Today gave them a C+; 700 Level spoke the truth: “Oh, and now that the Eagles haven't spent first-round money for two straight years, maybe they can give Westbrook the money he deserves.”
