Jenkintown will have to wait a little longer for its close-up.
According to a post on the Web site for the Hiway Theatre (www.hiwaytheatre.org), the long-standing movie house, which is undergoing significant renovations, is now scheduled to open in February, not January as its under-construction marquis states.
Hiway Theatre Inc., the nonprofit community-owned organization behind the effort, is still about $175,000 short of the fundraising goal that will help transform the location into a destination again on Jenkintown’s main thoroughfare.
