Witches & Wizards Ball

On Saturday, October 15, 2005, Mill Race Village Arts & Preservation and Main Street Mount Holly present Mount Holly’s 6th Annual Witches & Wizards Costume Ball from 6-11 PM. This free outdoor event is a one of a kind opportunity for adults to dress up and act like, well, whatever they want!

Over the years, the Witches & Wizards Ball has become of the most talked about events in Burlington County attracting people from as far as Philadelphia and New York. This year’s Ball promises to be even bigger and better.

The evening will be filled with fun activities like Palm and Tarot card readings (pure fun for some and insightful visions into the future for others!). In addition Professional Fire Dancers, will be spotlighting their spectacular fire dancing abilities. The South Jersey Ghost Research Company will be on hand throughout the evening to talk about the ghost research they have performed in South Jersey including an animated ghost story reading.

However, the highlight of the evening will be the annual Costume Contest, judged by lucky local dignitaries who will look for inventive costumes, charisma and the participant’s ability to take the stage and woo the crowd! The contest starts with a reading of Edgar Allen Poe’s “The Raven” by local actors who capture the audience’s attention and set the stage for the rest of the evening. The costume contest is a blast for the participants and spectators alike with the participants strutting to the best Disco music along with a very active crowd! There is a $2 fee per contestant per category.

Six Hundred Main Street Mount Holly Dollars in Prizes will be up for grabs for the best Witches, Warlocks, Wizards and general costume categories. MSMH Dollars can be redeemed in shops in Mill Race Village and downtown Mount Holly Shops and Restaurants.

Local restaurants offer discounts for anyone in costume that night.
